Stone Lake Winery, PA Review

Hello folks! We would like to share our experience with Stone Lake Winery, located at 407 Greenview Dr, Saylorsburg, PA 18353.

Location

First Impressions

It was an interesting experience during our stay as part of the Harvest Hosts program. However, it’s important to clarify that while the name suggests a winery, Stone Lake Winery is more accurately described as a wine bar / Inn. The name in google maps is actually Stone Lake Inn; in fact, there are Stone Lake Winery in other locations nearby, but we don’t know for sure if they are a winery or just a wine bar. This distinction became evident upon our arrival when we discovered that the bar was closed during our visit. Unfortunately, this meant we were unable to taste any of the wines they offered.

No wine? No problem, we had açaí instead.

To add to our disappointment, the night we stayed happened to be rainy, which limited our ability to enjoy the view the location had to offer fully. Given the circumstances, it would have been wonderful if we could have sought refuge in the wine bar and savored a glass of wine while taking in the surroundings. However, the owner informed us that due to the current economic climate, they were unable to provide staff to serve. We found this excuse rather unsatisfactory, but we had no choice but to accept the situation.

Nevertheless, it’s worth mentioning that the front lake view at Stone Lake Winery is quite pleasant. The RV parking area is spacious and easily accommodates larger rigs, making maneuvering a breeze. The long grassy space contributes to a serene and secluded atmosphere, providing a sense of safety during our stay. If the weather had been more favorable, we believe we could have had a more enjoyable time in this picturesque location.

The neighborhood surrounding Stone Lake Winery exudes a peaceful, farm-like ambiance that we found charming. The road leading to the site was calm, although not entirely empty, which prevented us from feeling completely isolated. If you’re seeking a truly secluded experience, it’s worth considering this aspect before making your reservation.

In summary, while Stone Lake Winery may not meet the traditional expectations of a winery, it still offers certain appealing features. The scenic front lake view, spacious RV area, and overall seclusion create an inviting atmosphere. However, it’s important to manage your expectations and keep in mind that the wine bar may not always be open, as we experienced firsthand. If you’re seeking a quiet and peaceful spot to park your RV and enjoy the surrounding natural beauty, Stone Lake Winery can be a suitable choice. Just be aware that it may not fulfill the typical winery experience you might expect. That’s all for now, folks. Tchau!
